Prior to this entire area was part of Mughal India from 5186 to 1756, Afghan empire from 1756 to 1819, Sikh empire from 1819 to 1845. The area of Jammu and Kashmir comprises of people with divergent languages and divergent local cultures. Though the majority is Muslims, yet there are substantial number of Hindus, Sikhs, Budhists and Christians in areas under Indian administration. The areas under Pak administration are 100 percent Muslims, though the ,Muslims of northern areas have a totally different language and are mainly Ismaelis. My point is that there is no lingual, religious or cultural identity and the state is as divergent as mainland India. Legally the State can be either part of Pakistan or India as evident in UN resolutions. Independent Kashmir may be a wish of a segment of population but the majority of people of Northern areas and AJK are pro Pakistan. The people of Kashmir valley are divided between Pakistan and Independence. The Hindus of Jammu are pro India and so are the Budhists of Ladakh. The Muslims of Jammu are mainly pro Pakistan. As per my assessment the best option for the people of Kashmir is Pakistan.Gulzar Khanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14730353094010420500noreply@blogger.com
