Big brother creates big problems for people of Jammu and Kashmir.

‘Big brother’ of Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, allows people to exercise the right of expression provided they praise Pakistan’s wrong policies, and especially policies of the establishment.

If you defy that rule, then you are asking for trouble, and in the worst-case scenario that trouble could end your life as well.

United Kashmir Peoples National Party, which strongly believes in peaceful struggle for United and independent Jammu and Kashmir with liberal and secular society, arranged a conference in Islamabad.

All the arrangements for the conference were made, and the conference was to take place on 17 September 2022 in the Islamabad Hotel. Delegates from Gilgit Baltistan, so called Azad Kashmir and some from various cities of Pakistan arrived in Islamabad today.

The Islamabad Hotel is a reputable place for all sorts of social and political events, however, sadly we were told today that those who are above the Pakistani laws, and are known as Khalai Makhlooq (aliens), Department of Agriculture, Angels etc, ordered them to cancel the event.

The UKPNP always oppose politics of violence, extremism and terrorism and hatred, and in line with our ideals and politics, our conference was to promote peace, tolerance, fundamental rights for all citizens and democracy.

Khalai Makhlooq and those who work in shadows could not tolerate us promoting peace, tolerance and fundamental rights for all the citizens of Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir. This agenda of peace and tolerance is against their strategies and ideology, hence cancellation of this conference by force.

All the problems, suffering, torture, humiliation, death and destruction we citizens of Jammu and Kashmir have faced since 22 October 1947 is a result of the Pakistani aggression against Jammu and Kashmir and its people.

Pakistan attacked Jammu and Kashmir and killed thousands of innocent people by violating the Standstill Agreement. Until this Pakistani obsession to capture Kashmir does not end, we people of Jammu and Kashmir will continue to suffer.

Despite overt and covert policies of the Pakistani establishment to teach lessons to people of Jammu and Kashmir who did not side with the raiders in October 1947, some naïve people still erroneously think that Pakistan is their big brother.

Stark reality is that Pakistan is an arsonist that has set the house of the neighbour on fire. When the fire was out of control, to win sympathy the household shouted fire – fire - fire and ran with a bucket of water to put out the flames.

Some members of the household died in the fire, and those who survived are grateful to the arsonist who burnt their house and burnt their loved ones. No one cares to investigate who burnt the house.

Sardar Shaukat Ali Kashmiri Chairman of the UKPNP said, “We strongly condemn this action of the Pakistani establishment, and we will not be intimidated by their anti-people, Jammu and Kashmir, and anti-peace policies. Our struggle against oppression, injustice, extremism, intolerance, violence and hatred will continue”.

Other UKPNP leaders of the UKPN, Dr Shabir Choudhry, Nasir Aziz, Jamil Maqsood, Amjad Yousaf, Usman Kayani, Tariq Khan, Master Ishtiaq, Jamil Latif, Sarfraz Raja also condemned this action and vowed to protest against this; and continue their struggle for united and independent Jammu and Kashmir.
