Who killed Babar Qadri Advocate?

Who killed Babar Qadri Advocate?

Dr Shabir Choudhry 30 September 2020

When Baber Qadri was killed, I was among those who condemned it, and demanded very strict punishment for the assassins. Also in my TV programme, My Voice, Abbas Butt and I condemned this targeted murder and demanded that the culprits must be caught and punished.

Baber Qadri was not the first innocent person to die because of his political narrative, and sadly he won’t be the last one. His father in Law, Dr Ghulam Qadir Wani Sahib, a good friend of mine with whom I had lengthy discussions on various aspects of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in Islamabad, was also murdered on his return to Kashmir.

He was killed because he advanced a narrative that was abhorred by Islamabad and their foot soldiers. They wanted to silence all sane voices, and especially voices of dissent that they can impose their agenda on Kashmir.

While talking on this subject and expressing my sentiments with a thinking Kashmiri from the Valley of Kashmir, I said, ‘We both are also among the killers of Baber Qadri’. He was stunned by my remarks, and asked me for clarification.

I said, although I was never part of militancy, however, we both were part of the JKLF. In our own way, we strengthened the JKLF and promoted its ideology. The JKLF, in turn, collaborated with the ISI and introduced a gun culture in Kashmir with disastrous results for the polity of Jammu and Kashmir and people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially people of the Valley.

Hizb ul Mujahideen took the gun culture introduced by the JKLF to the next level. Militancy and gun culture became a lucrative business for some people. Subsequently Al Umer Mujahideen, Jaish e Mohammed, Lashkar e Taiba and other militant organisations took control of the gun culture.

India had obligation to protect life, liberty and property of the people. They failed to do that; and innocent people were killed by men in uniform and militants. No one was safe in Kashmir.

In my opinion, all those who supported militancy, I mean political parties, APHC, Jihad Council, other groups and individuals are also indirectly culpable for death and destruction that is going on since 1988.

We cannot shun our responsibilities by pointing finger at others or by using abusive language. Every human life is valuable, and we have to protect human lives rather than supporting those who want blood and dead bodies to advance their agenda.

Mian Abdul Qayuum and High Court Bar Association.

Generally members of the Bar associations are affiliated to political parties, alliances or groups, but the Bar associations as an organ do not subscribe to any political ideology or become a member of any political alliance to advance a particular ideology.

Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association is unique in some ways that it officially subscribes to a political ideology, and actively advances the political programme of APHC, which people believe was created by ISI to advance their agenda on Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Is it not better for the Bar Associations to defend rights of citizens and dispense their responsibilities in accordance with the law rather than advancing a particular ideology? Won’t this prejudice rights of those who do not ascribe to this particular ideology, for example, members of National Conference, PDP, Congress and many others.

Coming back to the tragic killing of Baber Qadri, it must be noted that he was very outspoken and courageous man. He did not hesitate to confront and expose those who, in his opinion, were agents of India or Pakistan. Just like political culture of Pakistan, in political culture of Jammu and Kashmir, no evidence is required to accuse people of treason and labelling them as traitors and agents.

Baber Qadri also accused some prominent people, groups and parties. In his view, some known political leaders of Kashmir were ISI agents and some were Indian agents. He accused Jamat e Islami and also accused APHC leaders and Mian Abdul Qayuum, the President of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association.

Baber Qadri contested Mian Abdul Qayyum in the election for the post of President of High Court Bar Association, and badly lost. After 5 August 2019, in protest against what India did, Mian Abdul Qayyum, as the President of the Bar Council declared to boycott the courts.

Baber Qadri defied that by taking up a case of a 12 years old child who belonged to a poor family. They could not afford the court fees. Baber Qadri, on humanitarian grounds (he did not charge any fees) fought his case.

Although what Baber Qadri did was purely on humanitarian grounds, Mian Abdul Qayyum did not appreciate his sentiments, and regarded his action as non-compliance to the decision of the Bar Council and suspended his membership. This further aggravated the situation and embittered already bad relationship.

Baber Qadri did not hesitate to call Mian Abdul Qayyum and Jamat e Islami ISI agents. Baber Qadri and supporters of Mian Abdul Qayyum and Jamat e Islami publicly spoke against each other.

Baber Qadri and his friends felt that his life was in danger. Sources close to Baber Qadri’s family confirm that there was a serious threat to his life. He talked to his friends about the threats and intimidation. He shared nature of these threats on the social media; and he twice requested the concerned authorities for security.

It is believed that the concerned authorities were seriously evaluating the situation to provide him some security. Alas, those who were responsible to provide security were still deliberating on the issue, and assassins silenced another dissenting voice.

One Kashmiri person from the Valley of Kashmir said, no one came from Delhi or Islamabad to kill Baber Qadri. Someone from here did this. We need to stop accusing India or Pakistan for every murder that takes place in Kashmir, and find the culprits who live among us.

Some critics point fingers towards supporters of Mian Abdul Qayyum, others accuse Jamat e Islami and other local outfits. The authorities need to investigate this matter and arrest the culprits and punish them in accordance with the law.

If this gun culture and terror infrastructure is not eradicated, I am afraid more innocent people will die unnecessarily. We need to rethink wisdom of our policies and rectify mistakes of the past.

Another attack of Pakistan on Jammu and Kashmir State, by Dr Shabir Choudhry

Another attack of Pakistan on Jammu and Kashmir State, by Dr Shabir Choudhry

Pakistan has started another operation against former Princely State of Jammu and Kashmir. This operation is designed to annex Gilgit Baltistan. Capturing of Gilgit Baltistan will make this region fifth ‘Province of Pakistan’; and may start a new war or a cold war in the region.

“After consultation with all stakeholders, the federal government has decided in principle to give constitutional rights to Gilgit-Baltistan.” He accentuated that ‘deprivation of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan of 73 years would come to an end. Besides the constitutional rights and the provincial setup, important steps were also being taken for the development of the region’. 1

Is India responsible for the ‘deprivation’ of these people. Did India oppress them and treated them like sub human beings?

Mr Gandapur, it was your Pakistan who has ruled this region with an iron fist since 1947. Pakistani rulers oppressed people and denied them of their fundamental rights; and no one stopped Pakistan to empower these people.

Yes, India has to share some responsibility. The Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir, after the Pakistani military attack on Jammu and Kashmir on 22 October 11947, was forced to accede to India. India acquired responsibilities under the accession treaty and the UNCIP Resolutions. India had a duty to protect life liberty, property and honour of all citizens of Jammu and Kashmir, including Gilgit Baltistan and so called Azad Kashmir.

India failed to discharge this responsibility honourably, and left people of these two regions at the mercy of rulers of Pakistan. Furthermore, India even failed to protect life, liberty and property of people in the areas of Jammu and Kashmir under their control. However, this is a topic for some other time.

It is difficult to predict what will happen after Pakistan provide a ‘legal’ cover to its invasion of Gilgit Baltistan. Some people think Pakistani brand of Islam and the redundant Two Nations Theory can only survive if their country has five provinces. Sadly, they lost East Pakistan due to their oppressive and unfair policies, and one way of compensating for that loss is to make Gilgit Baltistan part of Pakistan.

Since their first attack on Jammu and Kashmir on 22 October 1947, they have fooled people of Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir in name of religion. Because of that, all their attacks on Jammu and Kashmir and wrong doings are perceived as halal – legitimate, justified and appropriate.

Minister of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur, while talking to
media said:

Pakistani attack of October 1947 was designed to capture Jammu and Kashmir. It resulted in death and destruction, loot, plunder and rapes of women and forced division of our motherland. Sadly, still many Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan believe that Pakistani attack was designed to liberate Jammu and Kashmir and help Muslims.

All subsequent attacks were also designed to grab Kashmir. They showed no interest in empowering people of Jammu and Kashmir living under their control, but they never stopped shedding crocodile tears for the people of the Kashmir Valley.

How many times Pakistan has attacked Kashmir, I don’t know. However, I can safely say that they have beaten the record of Mahmood Ghaznavi, Afghan warrior who attacked India seventeen times. His each attack resulted in death and destruction and loot and plunder.

India was building some infrastructure in Ladakh. The Pakistani secret agencies believed that this new infrastructure will help India to attack Siachin and endanger the CPEC route. They persuaded the Chinese that if India is allowed to go ahead with their plans then there will be serious consequences for the Pakistani and the Chinese interests in Gilgit Baltistan.

It is believed that after some serious consultations between Beijing and Islamabad, it was decided that China should engage India in Ladakh and in other areas that they forget their plans to attack Gilgit Baltistan.
Experts who keen interest in the region are of the opinion that China agreed to engage India at various points on LAC for multiple objectives. However, they urged Pakistan to annex Gilgit Baltistan by making changes to their constitution, most likely by amending article 257 of the Constitution of Pakistan, as that will provide a legal cover Pakistan.

China can intervene to protect areas which are ‘legally’ part of Pakistan; but it will be unwise for China to intervene in Gilgit Baltistan if the status of these remain disputed.

All the signs are that Pakistan will go ahead with its plan to annex Gilgit Baltistan. They will find many foot soldiers and mental slaves to welcome this action, and regard it as halal action, which is designed to enhance quality of life of the people.

India is unlikely to take any risks in view of the Chinese and Pakistani collaboration and vested interests in the region. People of Kashmir Valley have their own problems, and at best, they can issue a statement opposing this action.

Like other imperial powers, Pakistan has also a strong network of collaborators, foot soldiers and military might, and in my opinion, subjugated people of Gilgit Baltistan

will not rise up and they will acquiesce. People of so called Azad Kashmir will strongly oppose this on the social media, and in accordance with their past history, will accuse each other and call each other a traitor.
The Pakistani action will, once again provide a solid evidence that they are only interested in territory and resources of Jammu and Kashmir State; and welfare of the people is not on their priority list.

Sadly, this action of Pakistan could prove to be the last nail in the coffin of Jammu and Kashmir dispute, which is now known as India Pakistan problem. It will give more credence to this theory that both India and Pakistan are on the same page as far as division of Jammu and Kashmir is concerned. Dr Nazir Gilani, in his recent article on the topic wrote:

‘The action would bring Pakistan at par with Indian actions of 5 August 2019, would be a violation of UN Resolutions on the future of the State, would be a departure from Pakistan’s stand on Kashmir and above all would be considered as a betrayal by the people who have sacrificed a generation of their loved ones. Pakistan would lose trust of the people of the State and there would be unfolding challenges in the courts, at the UN and it would dislodge the Pakistani constituency in Kashmir.’ 2

Constitutional experts believe that India has a legal title in Jammu and Kashmir, because the Ruler of the State acceded to India. Pakistan has no such title. They had a Standstill Agreement with the Jammu and Kashmir State, which they violated and attacked the State with intention to capture it.

In view of this, legal positions of both countries cannot be same. Therefore, all actions of Pakistan, for example, to give away Shaksam Valley to China or to annex Gilgit Baltistan are illegal, and against the UN Resolutions of Jammu and Kashmir.

In conclusion, Pakistan created this dispute by attacking the Jammu and Kashmir in October 1947; and Pakistan will kill the dispute now by Euthanasia. Of course, to give respect to the dead body, and to honour sufferings of other victims, Pakistan will wrap them in the required constitutional changes.

Threat to fundamental rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir in Britain.

Date: 09 September 2020                                                      Our Ref: PR/FAC2020

Debby Abrahams, Chairperson All Parties Parliamentary Group

Dear Debby Abrahams.

Re: Threat to fundamental rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir in Britain.

It is not my concern, in name of Jammu and Kashmir, who gets what from which secret agency to advance a particular view point. However, it becomes my serious concern when people don’t discharge their duties correctly, tell lies, muzzle our fundamental right, harass and intimidate us even in Britain.

Before I give details of the threats the British Kashmiris face on streets of England, I need to give you some background that you can understand the situation.

I am sure well informed person like you would know that Tanveer Ahmed, a British citizen was arrested, beaten up, dragged, insulted and put in prison without any charges in so called Azad Kashmir.

Sadly, he is still in prison or in some torture cell, yet APPG is quiet and looking the other way. Not only complete silence by APPG surprises me and other freedom loving British citizens, but it hurts us that even the Members of the Parliament hailing from that region are also tight lipped on the issue.

Tanveer Ahmed did not break any law, yet he was arrested and beaten up. Azad Kashmir government and their supporters claim to be independent, then question arises what right Pakistan has to hoist their flag there?

Pakistan have their flags hoisted on many buildings and in various places in Azad Kashmir. Pakistan is an independent country, and so is Azad Kashmir, according to their claim, then why there are no flags of Azad Kashmir in Pakistan?

People have so called Azad Kashmir, more appropriately, Pakistani Occupied Jammu and Kashmir tolerated this, mainly due to fear and intimidation. This year before 14 August, a Pakistani flag was hoisted in a square in Sub District Dadyal of District Mirpur which is attributed to Maqbool Butt.

To people of the region, and especially to nationalists of Jammu and Kashmir, it is a sacred place which symbolises their national struggle for united and independent Jammu and Kashmir.

Once the functions related to the independence of Pakistan were over, Tanveer Ahmed and other nationalists requested the authorities to remove that flag, as it hurts their sentiments. Their requests fell on deaf ears, and in response, Tanveer Ahmed went on hunger strike, which he ended on the promise that the flag will be removed in a couple of days.

After waiting for more than ten days, Tanveer Ahmed removed the flag. He paid full respect to the flag, wrapped it carefully and kept it close to his chest. The flag fell on floor when police attacked him, beaten him up and dragged him.

There were a number of protests and petitions for the release of Tanveer Ahmed. Sadly, he is still not released. The authorities have not charged him with any offence. There is no such law under which they can charge him.

To protest against his illegal arrest and detention, Jammu Kashmir National Independence Alliance arranged a demonstration outside the Pakistani Consulate in Bradford. The JKNIA had a permission from police to hold this protest.

In order to intimidate Kashmiri nationalists and create chaos, the Consulate allowed their supporters and some trouble makers to assemble at the same spot.

As expected, this created a serious tension. The supporters of Pakistan started using foul language and intimidate the other group which is pro people, pro peace and pro Jammu and Kashmir.

The day was saved by timely intervention of the local police who were unaware of the presence of the other group who was allowed to assemble by the Consulate. The Pakistani controlled media and their foot soldiers started making allegations and hurling threats that these people will not be allowed to continue their activities in Britain.

In my view, this is a serious threat to community relations, peace and harmony and to our fundamental rights. I hope APPG and the British authorities will take appropriate steps to nip in the bud this growing menace.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Your sincerely

Ahead of FATF meeting, new Pakistani document certifies Hizbul chief Salahuddin as 'bona fide' official of ISI

Ahead of FATF meeting, new Pakistani document certifies Hizbul chief Salahuddin as 'bona fide' official of ISI        Sep 06, 2020 | 07:15 IST

New Pakistani document accessed by the Indian security agency shows that Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin is a “bona fide” official of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

The letter is valid till December 31, 2020

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

·       Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin is a “bona fide official” working with ISI

·       His security is cleared and his SUV should not be stopped uneccessarily, the document says

·       If Pakistan is placed on the blacklist, the country would suffer challenges faced by Iran: Imran Khan

New Delhi: New Pakistani document by Directorate of Intelligence certifies that banned terror group Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Muhammad Yousaf Shah aka Syed Salahuddin is a “bona fide official” working with ISI.

Salahuddin, who also heads United Jihad Council (UJC), an umbrella organisation of terrorist outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), has security clearance which states he should not be stopped unnecessarily as security checkpoints.

The letter is issued in the name of director/commanding officer Wajahat Ali Khan and states that it is certified with Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Islamabad, reported TOI.

'Travels in a Land Cruiser, security-wise cleared'

“He is bona fide official of this department,” the letter reads and also shares details of the vehicle – a Toyota Land Cruiser ZX (V8) – in which the terrorist travels. The letter states that  Salahuddin is security-wise cleared and should not be unnecessarily stopped.

Valid till December 31, 2020, the letter nails Pakistan’s lies of acting against terrorism showing its continuing support to terrorism emanating from its soil.

FATF sword hangs over Pakistan as India set to raise terror funding charges in upcoming task force meet

In June, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) extended the deadline for Pakistan till the next plenary meeting due to COVID-19 and urged Islamabad to ensure compliance of the 27-point action plan.

FATF likely to see the new Pakistani document

In the next plenary, the FATF will analyse and verify Pakistan’s progress to counter money-laundering and terror financing.

The new letter issued for Hizbul chief is likely to be seen by the FATF before it makes any decision.

The global money laundering and terrorist financing watchdog placed Pakistan on the grey list in June 2018, placing at least 27 conditions for compliance review on September 2019.

Since then, Pakistan has received at least three extensions as it has failed to comply with the conditions, required to get its name removed from the grey list.

PM Imran Khan had recently said that India has been lobbying hard from the past two years to put Pakistan on the blacklist at FATF, adding that the country’s economy would be destroyed if this happens.

If Pakistan was placed on the blacklist, the country would suffer the challenges faced by Iran, said Khan.

Musharraf got Rs20m on retirement bought Rs400m flats in London and UAE. Ahmad Noorani

Musharraf got Rs20m on retirement bought Rs400m flats in London and UAEAhmad Noorani

ISLAMABAD: Official land registry documents of the UK government show that Pervez Musharraf had made a payment of 1.35 million British pound (Approx 20 Caror Pak rupees) for purchase a flat in London on May 13, 2009. Another flat in UAE approximately with same monetary value was purchased by him in the same duration, whereas total financial benefits given to him following his retirement as army chief were less than Rs20 million (2 carore rupees).

Official documents submitted by Musharraf before Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) before contesting 2013 general elections, available with The News, show that he has not sold out any of residential or commercial plots or a farm house he obtained during his army service. The two squares (50 acres) agriculture land in Bahawalpur allotted to him because of his army service was sold out by him in 2002.

General Musharraf had left Pakistan in April 2009 after restoration of judiciary and had not started his international lectures by that time when on May 13, 2009 he purchased Hyde Park Crescent, London flat by paying 1.35 million pounds. His statement of assets submitted to ECP shows his following two foreign immoveable properties; 1- 28, Castle Acre, Hyde Park Crescent, London, 2- 3902, South Ridge Tower 6 Downtown, Dubai, UAE. UAE flat was also purchased by the general in the same duration and the according to property experts, its value was more than 20 caror Pak rupees at time of purchase.

Land registry documents of London flat show that Flat 28, Castle Acre, Hyde Park Crescent, London (Postcode: W2 2PT) has Land Registry Number: NGL906437, owned by Sehba Musharraf and payment of £1,350,000 was made on 13 May 2009 to acquire this flat.

Official documents show that National Accountability Bureau has all these details but it still has to move to start proper investigation against the ex-dictator. The payments made by Musharraf in a few months after leaving Pakistan in 2009 are around Rs400 million to purchase properties in London and UAE before starting his international lectures and without selling any of his residential plots, houses, commercial properties and a farm house. This is an issue pending with NAB along with all documentary evidence for long. According to reported fact, Musharraf started receiving income from his international lectures in 2010.

However, when The News approached spokesman of Musharraf and chief-coordinator of his political party All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Ahmad Raza Kasuri, he said that Musharraf purchased London and UAE flats with his income of international lectures. “Musharraf was one of the highest paid persons in the world who deliver lectures at international forums and universities,” Kasuri said. On the question as to how Musharraf managed to arrange such big money immediately after his retirement to purchase lucrative offshore properties as his pension amount was very much less as compare to total value of properties he purchased, Kasuri said that he was unaware of Musharraf’s personal and financial matters. Kasuri maintained that Musharraf is an honest and a straightforward person.

The statement of assets submitted by General Musharraf on March 27, 2013 in ECP shows details of his local and offshore bank accounts as follows: 1- NBP Murree Brewery Branch, Rawalpindi, Rawalpindi, A/c No. 8555-0, Balance: Rs6,287,484; 2- Habib Metropolitan Bank, Rawalpindi Cant, A/c No 20610-118625, Balance: Rs1,715,769 (Jointly operated by General Pervez Musharraf and Sehba Musharraf); 3- Habib Metropolitan Bank, Rawalpindi Cant, A/c No 20616-333-144272, Balance: US$5,127 (Jointly operated byGeneral Pervez Musharraf and Sehba Musharraf); 4- Bank Alfalah Limited, Blue Area, Islamabad, A/c No. 0035-02906365, Balance: Rs918,870 (Jointly operated by General Pervez Musharraf and Sehba Musharraf); 5- Bank Alfalah Limited, Blue Area, Islamabad, A/c No. 0035-02805175, Balance: US$5,900 (Jointly operated by General Pervez Musharraf and Sehba Musharraf); 6- Askari Bank, GHQ Branch, Rawalpindi, A/c No. 028-1000204103, Balance: Rs836,584 (Operated by Begum Sehba Musharraf); 7- NBP, Super Market Branch, Islamabad, A/c No. 808123-0, Balance: Rs505,404 (Jointly operated by Zohra Musharraf and Pervez Musharraf); 8- Askari Bank Ltd, AWT Plaza, Rawalpindi Cant, A/c No. 01-010-0862-1 (Dormant Account), Balance: Rs4,369; and 9- Foreign Accounts: Union National Bank, PB Branch, Abu Dhabi, UAE, A/c No. 4002000304 AND HSBC PLC, Edge ware Road, London, A/c No. 11529633.

Musharraf’s statement of assets submitted before ECP details his Pakistani properties as follows: 1- House No. 6, Army Housing Scheme Part-II-Clifton Cantt, Karachi, (Declared estimated Market Value: Rs50,000,000); 2- Plot No-172, Khayaban-e-Faisal, Phase-8, DHA, Karachi, (Declared estimated Market Value: Rs15,000,000); 3- Plot No. 301, Beach Street No. 1, Phase-8, DHA Karachi, (Declared estimated Market Value: Rs15,000,000); 4- Plot No. 1, (200 Sq Yds Commercial), Sector F, DHA, Phase-II, Islamabad, (Declared estimated Market Value: Rs5,000,000); 5- Plot No. CC-1, (200 Sq Yds Commercial), Sector CCA, DHA, Lahore, (Declared estimated Market Value: Rs60,000,000); 6- Farm No. C-1/B, (5 Acres), Park Road, Chak Shehzad, Islamabad, (Declared estimated Market Value: Rs60,000,000); 7- Plot No. 1, 5-A-E, Phase-3B, Sangar Housing Scheme, Gawadar, (Declared estimated Market Value: Rs160,000); 8- House No. 25, Army Housing Scheme, Part-II, Clifton Cantt, Karachi, in the name of Begum Sehba Musharraf (Declared estimated Market Value: Rs40,000,000).

Statement of assets submitted before ECP details vehicles in use of General Musharraf and his spouse as follows: 1- BD-9804 Land Cruiser; 2- BD-9824 Land Cruiser; 3- SP-044 Toyota Corolla; 4- NX-161 Toyota Land Cruiser; 5- NX-171 Toyota Land Cruiser; 6- UC-287 Toyota HiLux Pickup; 7- UC 288 Toyota HiLux Pickup

Though many believe that General Musharraf was disqualified from contesting elections because July 2009 Supreme Court judgement declaring him a usurper and violator of the constitution, it is important to mention here that judge of Islamabad Election Tribunal declared him ineligible to contest elections citing discrepancies in his asset statement and FBR report submitted to the commission. The judgement penned down on April 7, 2013 says that huge monies in his bank accounts and big immoveable properties are not reflected in FBR report. According to this judgement, he hasn’t paid any taxes despite monies coming in his Pakistani accounts.

Why doesn’t Pakistan condemn China for their mistreatment of Uyghurs? Ahmad Abubakr

Those who get tummy pain of Umma and support every wrong doing of Pakistan should read this, written by a Pakistan honest man.

Why doesn’t Pakistan condemn China for their mistreatment of Uyghurs? Ahmad Abubakr

The reason is actually quite simple. Nations are inherently selfish entities. They act based on self-interest. Not morality.
Pakistan has very friendly relations with China. It also has strong economic ties with China. So why would Pakistan condemn China? Doing such a thing harms the relations between the two nations. Plus it would hurt Pakistan economically at a time when Pakistan is facing economic problems. Not the wisest move to make.

In summary, Pakistan does not condemn China for the mistreatment of the Uyghur because doing so will gain Pakistan nothing. While supporting China will gain Pakistan quite a bit. This is how nations work. Pakistan will do whatever is in its best interest. Which in this case is to support China in the whole Uyghur issue.

Let’s look at another example. The Rohingya Genocide was criticized by many Muslims throughout the world. Yet, Pakistan has helped in the training of the very military responsible for the treatment of the Rohingya. Even now, Pakistan has military ties with Myanmar. There are even talks of selling military airplanes to Myanmar. Once again, national interest takes precedent over ideals (morality and religion).

This should not really come as a surprise to anyone. This is how the real world works. The idea that Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, etc care about the “Ummah” more so than their national interests is a myth.

Pakistan is hardly the only nation to act in such a manner. Every nation does the same. For example, how much criticism of China’s treatment of the Uyghur have we heard from Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc. Other nations that quite often claim to care about the “Ummah”. They are no different from Pakistan. All nations act in a similar manner.

From a historical perspective, the “Ummah” ceased to exist as a collective following the Abbasid Revolution in the middle of the 8th century. Since then, the Muslim world has been divided into many kingdoms and empires. All trying to expand at the expense of their Muslim neighbors. Even making alliances with non-Muslim kingdoms to gain an upper hand against their Muslim rivals.
The best example of this would be the Abbasid looking quite favorably upon the Mongols for the destruction of the Khwarezmian Empire. Or the Delhi Sultanate working alongside the Mongols to drive out the Khwarezmians from the Indian Subcontinent. History is filled with thousands of similar examples.

As I said at the beginning, nations are inherently selfish entities. They act on self-interest. Not morality. This includes Pakistan. That is why Pakistan chooses to not condemn China. Instead it chooses to support it. It is in Pakistan’s national interest to support China.

Dance of blinds

Dance of blinds

1.    We people of JK are forcible divided and denied of our fundamental rights. People who are blinded with hate, and who lack vision want to unite Muslim Umma.

2.    They are fed with lies, and they happily dance on the tune played by our occupiers. They believe majority of the countries favour policies of Pakistan. Evidence is that out of 192 countries 184 voted for India, including Pakistan and other Muslim countries which are part of Umma.

3.    They think the world should formulate policies according to their wishes. Countries make policies to advance their national interest, and not according to wish list of some people who live in a fantasy world.

4.    Tanveer Ahmed, a British citizen, conducted a survey in so called Azad Kashmir with a sample of 10,000 people. 73.6% people wanted an independent Jammu and Kashmir.

5.    Many surveys, including the survey conducted by world famous, Chatham House confirmed that more than 92% people of the Valley wanted an independent Kashmir.

6.    Still some people brainwashed by Pakistani propaganda think that the majority of people want to join Pakistan.

7.    I have stated these facts for the people with some common sense and not for those who live in a fantasy world. Let them dance in a circle, no skin of my nose.
